Breaking Down AI Technology

The AI technology space may seem futuristic, but in reality it’s already here. At the simplest form, it’s a sped up version of analyzing and classifying certain things, and in the case of Snappoo, this is a categorization of images. AI is able to detect differences and quickly sort them based on identifiable characteristics, doing exactly what humans would do, just at a much quicker and more accurate pace.

How does AI work within the Snappoo app?

The founders of Snappoo spent months researching and finding photos of dog poop. Yep, you read that right. With each new photo, they began teaching the AI by labeling the images with characteristics such as color, consistency or the presence of problematic issues like blood or mucus. The AI then began to pick up on the characteristics and was able to identify the issues with the poop on its own. The more images added, the quicker the AI learned. The Snappoo app is now available to the public to help people identify issues with their dog’s poop and give recommendations on the best ways to get their health back on track.
